Theft offences have been increasing sharply in recent years within the jurisdiction of the Hanover Police Directorate and across Germany. In 2014 there were 44,500 cases, of which less than one in three was solved. Where the police reach their limits, the detectives of Kurtz Investigations Hanover are happy to see what can be achieved with personal case management: +49 511 2028 0016.
Fraud schemes have always been “popular” methods for initially committing property offences unnoticed. In these cases, unsuspecting citizens are deceived through a fabricated pretext or an elaborate story. Examples include the grandchild trick, lottery promises, shock calls, and the gas man trick.
Classified ad fraud is also increasing in the internet age. In Hanover, a gang of fraudsters purchased numerous vehicles through classified ads between the end of 2014 and May 2015 without ever paying, or by simulating payments. The obtained vehicles were resold as stolen property via an apparently criminal, police-known provider from Baden-Württemberg, who has been able to continue this activity without consequences for years. The damages could reach seven figures.
Kurtz Investigations Hanover investigates cases of missing property. Most often, this involves financial losses due to fraud or theft, including burglary. Using various criminal investigation methods, our Hanover detectives can often reconstruct the course of events, trace the perpetrator, and secure the missing property: kontakt@kurtz-detektei-hannover.de.
With approximately 350 kiosks, Hanover probably has the highest kiosk density in Germany. This is partly due to the relatively high purchasing power of Hanover residents, and partly because retail even benefits from “shopping tourism” from other regions. Nevertheless, most of these small shops cannot afford to invest in professional measures against shoplifting and are therefore particularly attractive targets for petty criminals.
If you are a shop owner frequently affected, it is worth considering whether it pays off in the long term to make a one-time investment in improved security measures. The security experts of Kurtz Investigations Hanover are happy to advise you: +49 511 2028 0016.
Unfortunately, Hanover continues to experience robberies. For example, in June 2015 a man from Rethe, north of Brunswick, was targeted. The particularly cruel aspect: he is severely disabled and was robbed in broad daylight on the street. The perpetrator asked the 55-year-old victim, who can only move with a walker, for a cigarette. When the victim searched his pockets, the robber struck, pushed him to the ground, and stole his wallet. In addition to property damage of around 400 euros, all documents were taken, including the disability ID, which allows the victim free access to public transport.
Robberies involving threats with a soft air gun, which laypeople usually cannot distinguish from a real firearm, also occur repeatedly. The police clearance rate for robbery offences in 2014 was just over 50 percent. Almost every second robber got away with their crime.
